Job Title: Head of SME
Reports to: Corporate Sales Director
Main Purpose of the role
To support and coach the SME Territory Sales Managers to deliver maximum revenue from new business opportunities and the existing customers generated. To ensure all team members achieve target and sell and promote the companies products and services appropriately
1. Personal Activities
1.1 To develop a close working relationship with each member of the team
1.2 In conjunction with the Corporate Sales Director set team and individual objectives to ensure achievement of targets
1.3 To ensure the team work to their agreed KPIs.
1.4 To oversee the prospect database and where appropriate work with external providers to ensure the quality of leads
1.5 To ensure the team log all customer contact on Salesforce CRM tool
1.6 To analyse the weekly call reports and highlight issues to the Corporate Sales Director
1.7 To accompany team members on client visits to aid customer relationships and staff development
1.8 To assist in tender responses as appropriate
1.9 To advice, monitor and sign off profit models with the team where required
1.10 To assist the team with issues that need to be escalated to the Corporate Sales Director
1.11 To prepare individual development plans
1.12 To conduct annual staff performance appraisals and regular one to ones
2. Responsibilities
2.1 To ensure the team operate observing the company quality standards
2.3 To ensure a high level of product and service knowledge within the team
2.4 To ensure all calendars are updated and shared at all times
2.5 To ensure a high quality of production of call reports, weekly reports, tenders and customer communication etc
2.6 Ensure effective communication within the team, with operations and internal departments
2.7 In conjunction with Human Resources implement and maintain standards of recruitment, discipline, training and employee relations within the team
2.8 To promote and adhere to the company’s equal opportunities policy with regard to recruitment, promotion, training of staff and dealing with customers
2.9 To attend the National Sales Team meetings and SME Team Meetings as required to aid communication, motivation and teamwork
2.10 To ensure staff offer the highest levels of customer service at all times
2.11 To ensure staff are fully trained in their duties and to ensure all opportunities are captured to promote the company

Previous people management skills
Sales success in a selling role
Experience of selling in the SME market
Commercially aware
Excellent relationship management
Clear effective communicator both verbally and in writing
Organised/detail conscious/numerate
SalesForce knowledge would be an advantage
