Job title General Manager – Process & IT Grade
Reports to Operations Director
Job Purpose: To provide the interface between IT and Operations with regards to technology based systems & product development and implementation.
Key Role Responsibility and Accountabilities
Technical skills & knowledge requirement Behavioural Competencies
• Strategic involvement in the development of technology based products and services within the auction business, including Manheim Connect.
• Managing the monitoring, analysis and redesign of current processes within the Auction business, both technological and physical, to ensure they are fit for purpose, efficient and cost effective.
• Analysis and mapping of business requirements for the development of technology based systems within the Auction business
• IT operational project management, ensuring that realistic project plans are scoped out with operational focus and requirements included.
• Overseeing and project scoping the user analysis testing of new technology prior to roll out
• Establish “best practice” within the business and involvement in the roll out of changed working practices across the business, including managing the change process and up-skilling
• Securing and managing the IT spend in the auctions and monitoring return on investment
Essential
• Educated to degree level or equivalent
• Excellent analytical skills and knowledge of process reengineering and process improvement methodology and systems
• Business information and reporting skills
• Background in IT project management and key milestones
• Strong commercial awareness and operational background
• A results driven and determined individual capable of working on their own initiative
• Forward thinking planning decision making.
• High awareness of customer service, a genuine desire to provide customers with service excellence and encourage such awareness in staff.
• Results orientation with the ability to effectively manage team performance, including influencing skills.
• Project Management, process mapping, change management and process re-design skills and experience
