Job Title: Business Development Manager
Reporting to: Regional Sales Manager/Head of Sales

Location: Home


The Business Development Manager role is a field-based position dedicated to maximising the new business sales performance in the 75-600 fleet sectors. The candidate for this role must have a successful track record in a business to business sales environment where there is a strong focus on the customer. A depth and breadth of commercial understanding is necessary to support the negotiations likely with a complex financially based product offering.

Job Purpose:

• To identify new clients for  through cold calling prospecting.
• To manage the new business pipeline ensuring a steady stream of new business signings.
• To convert new target customers either from company provided leads or from researching market opportunities to maximise profitable sales volume.
• To actively support the sales team through sharing best practice and supporting business initiatives

Key Accountabilities:

• Opening new accounts with genuine potential to develop into profitable long term customers.
• To work with the Key Account Managers to effect a professional handover of newly signed accounts
• Achievement of all financial and activity sales targets
• Ensuring detailed prospect records are fully maintained


Responsibilities:

• To respond to qualified referrals and new business leads provided to you
• To undertake external research to identify potential new business leads
• To ensure that credit facilities and relevant contractual documentation are drawn up in compliance with  commercial, marketing and legal policies.
• To continually update and develop your knowledge of the overall marketplace,  product portfolio and competitor activity
• To ensure a professional hand-over of newly converted customers to Key Account Managers

• Performance against delivery target
• Conversion ratio from appointment to new customer created
• Sales key activities as set.
