Technical Director - Job Specification

Overview

Seeking a Technical Director with expertise in the development and testing of cutting-edge products in the mobile CCTV domain for buses and coaches, including mobile DVRs, Camera Mirror Systems, Driver Monitor Systems, Driver Assistance Systems, and more. The candidate should possess extensive experience in delivering Software as a Service (SaaS), managing cloud platforms, networking, GDPR and Cyber Security and have interest or a strong background in AI, neural networks and machine learning.

 

Key Responsibilities:

New Product Development and Testing:

• Lead the development and testing of new products both hardware such as mobile DVRs, Camera Mirror Systems, Driver Monitor Systems, and Driver Assistance Systems and software such as Video Telematics, Tracking and business intelligence platforms.
• Ensure products meet high standards of quality, usability, and reliability.

Technology Strategy and Innovation:

• Develop and implement a technology strategy that aligns with the company's goals, focusing on innovation in mobile CCTV technology.
• Stay at the forefront of technological advancements including AI, neural networks and machine learning to enhance product capabilities.

Leadership in Software and Cloud Solutions:

• Oversee the delivery of Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions.
• Manage the companies cloud infrastructure and ensure robust and secure networking solutions.

Quality Assurance and Compliance:

• Ensure that all products and services comply with industry standards and regulations.
• Implement and oversee quality control processes.

Team Leadership and Development:

• Lead and mentor a team of product managers, engineers, developers, and IT specialists.
• Promote a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.

Stakeholder Engagement:

• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure integration of technical solutions with business strategy.
• Engage with customers to understand their technical needs and incorporate feedback into product development.
• Budget and Resource Management:
• Develop and manage the technical department's budget.
• Ensure efficient allocation and utilization of resources.

Risk Management and Problem Solving:

• Proactively identify technical risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
• Apply innovative problem-solving skills to address technical challenges.

 

Qualifications and Experience

• Proven experience in leading technology teams, particularly in the mobile CCTV, telematics or related technology sectors.
• Strong background in developing and managing SaaS, cloud platforms, and networking solutions.
• Demonstrable experience in new product development, from conception to market launch.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to a variety of audiences.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree or certification in AI/machine learning is a plus.
• Knowledge and practical experience in AI, neural networks, and machine learning preferred.
