The purpose of the Head of Sales Development is to lead the strategic development and delivery of non-dealer sales through the current and future complex markets, whilst identifying and exploiting new customer market opportunities to deliver incremental sales against stretching targets set across the various KPI’s.

 

The role will also manage Central Sales Services to deliver results across both the dealer and non-dealer channels as well as oversee overall Sales Compliance and Training requirements through a clear certification approach linked to the regulatory requirements – across the entire market – which reports monthly directly into the BOM.

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver incremental Sales targets set across New, Used, Aftersales, Renewals, Insurance and Compliance KPI’s through non-dealer channels
  • Create new sales opportunities through non-captive channels and develop long-lasting partnerships
  • Create new commercial propositions with supporting growth revenue and profit forecasts and business-cases, where appropriate, being presented at BOM
  • Set-up and develop strategic sales programmes through coordinated efforts across the business to meet the changing needs of the market and/or customers under the ‘Sales Transformation’ project
  • Manage the rates and terms for all non-dealer Sales channels in conjunction with Commercial Operations
  • Develop and coordinate sales forecasts across all channels and lead the development of countermeasure proposals across all products and services
  • Present at specific Committees and Forums in the development of campaigns, products and compliance
  • Develop countermeasure plans through ‘risks and opportunities’ management on a monthly basis, where needed, to ensure sales results as well as the delivery of good customer outcomes 
  • Lead the digital sales development team where specific customers are identified to deliver the associated sales targets, whilst scaling resources in an agile capacity
  • Planning, and target-setting for new channels and markets in-line with Budgets and growth programmes across New and Used vehicle finance
  • Lead quarterly presentations and submissions into the Enterprise Risk Committee in all related Sales risk and compliance matters
  • Identify, develop and deliver new market expansion opportunities and work internally to develop robust solutions in a fully compliant way
  • Be the custodian for strategy, accuracy and operational development of Sales Force CRM systems for the entire Sales function
  • Continually review operations to performance, cost and effectiveness; developing and leading the evolution of new solutions and operating models; such as out-sourced ‘managed service’ solutions or internal sales headcount repurposing
  • Develop and lead a targeted Compliance and Training function that maximises sales results in an efficient way to manage resources, which upholding compliance risk and integrity associated with he company and their products and services
  • Design and lead a new central team of ‘virtual sales managers’ to service the needs of small, high-performing dealers, and non-dealer channels to deliver sales efficiently
  • Manage the development of sales campaigns and variable pricing solutions to new customers with the Pricing Team
  • Develop and support all aspects of Sales Administration from a central function, constantly looking at ‘root –cause’ to develop operational excellence and great services
  • Work closely with the Heads of Brand/Group to fully consider developmental impacts on the Dealer network sales plans
  • Lead with by example and with integrity, underpinned by our core values and guiding principles.
  • Responsible for leading multiple discipline teams (Sales Performance, Sales Support, Training and Compliance and Sales Development) – recruiting, retaining, motivating, engaging and performance managing the team
