Purpose & Key accountabilities

Responsibility of the function according to TCR documents of FO

 

  • Responsible for manual credit decisions within given competencies and as such is accountable for the quality of the manual credit decision according to credit guidelines
  • Responsible for adhering to & applying all UK compliance policies and  external regulatory requirements
  • Supports the development and implementation of the operational lending strategy for UK.
  • Assists with the manual credit decision process and communicating effectively to internal & external stakeholders.

 

 

Key authorities this role holds:

  • Approves credit exposures within own approval authority in SME/consumer leasing finance.
  • Advises the SME Credit Manager on all credit, AML, & Fraud issues.
  • Liaises with local departments & external stakeholders to ensure transparency and accuracy of financial risk management & operational AML & fraud compliance
  • Contributes to new projects to improve credit, AML & Fraud processes.
  • Escalates credit, AML, & fraud proposals and decisions outside of personal mandate to the relevant escalation point.
  • Adheres to local lending processes in alignment with the local and global credit guidelines
  • Adheres to local regulatory processes for anti-money laundering and fraud activities.
  • Approves changes in credit terms within granted competence levels.
  • Escalates confirmed PEPs and sanctions cases to the MLRO

 

Key tasks for this role:

  • Supports the SME Credit Manager in driving local Credit, AML & fraud team competencies through changes to processes, coaching junior members of the department for better performance, and for improving the overall quality of the final service.
  • Analyzes all factors which are material for assessing the credit, AML & fraud risk, taking particular account of the debt-servicing capacity of the borrower in line with CONC guidelines and latest European anti-Money laundering directives
  • Proactively drives productivity through process optimization and automation
  • Adapts finance and credit tools and processes to changing environment and ensures optimal service delivery to the local market.
  • Delivers support & coaching to local external stakeholders on AL-UK SME credit requirements
  • Enacts and ensures compliance with relevant credit and regulatory guidelines including fraud & anti-money laundering activities.
  • Provides up-to-date credit information to Compliance to ensure positioning of the business in a complex and changing regulatory environment.
  • Provides up-to-date management information to Compliance for all on-going anti-money laundering and fraud related activities.
  • Responsible for ensuring the approved  Partners retain the necessary FCA & ICO permissions.
  • Responsible for monitoring the anti-money laundering activity on the  customer portfolio.

  • Ensuring lending processes always meet the regulatory requirements.
  • Supporting change management within Credit Management to create efficiency across the business.

  • Credit decisions to the relevant Front Office (both internal/external).
  • External providers of IT systems that are used during the credit application process.

 

Educational Background / Professional Knowledge and Experience / Other Skills

Education

Preferably a degree level or equivalent qualification.

Work experience, Leadership experience

  • Relative experience in the leasing/automotive and/or financial services industry.
  • Relative knowledge of the regulatory frameworks for lending.
  • Relative experience within a financial services or credit function preferable.
